Other Readings Readings and selections from poems or great works of literature are helpful in the funeral setting. They remind us that we are not alone in our grief, but that death has been part of the human condition since the fall of man. Poems, quotations, or selections of prose should be chosen with great care to comfort the bereaved while reflecting our faith.
